It’s happening!

This winter 2015, LiK: Meet Up invites the 3 speakers from LevelUP! to Taiwan to give a workshop and shares their experience in the Entertainment Industry.

The Workshop is crafted to be organic and more interactivity between the speakers and the participants. Showing a detailed view of how these industry veterans think through their design process and pipeline of creating high-end industry work. Experiencing how these veterans view worlds.

Having the ability to create worlds, this is a Workshop you do not want to miss!

The rationale of the talk is to empower designers on the importance of abiding the copyright law and how this knowledge can help us protect our client’s IP. Because sometimes it is not the issue of not following the law but  an issue of whether we  are aware of the clauses that exist all the time. Especially when we are in the Outsourcing industry, we have to make sure everything is taken care of and the clients have a peace of mind that their projects are in good hand. If everyone knows the rules, the smoother the operation will be.

As it helps the creative industry, we open the event to public as well. We are really happy that within the first few days, all tickets are sold and tremendous positive responses that comes along. You bet more of such events coming along the way in 2015!

As usual, PARTY!!!

For the occasion, we made some door gift for all our friends. Bring some story of the World Snake into the design.

It is a great event to announce new plans, the milestones and also to highlight some of the possible features that will be included into the website in the future.

It is also cool to have Wacom, 104 (Job Directory in Taiwan) and game developers joining us in the occasion, extending their well wishes. 

Nice to see friends bringing their whole family along.

Although due to project schedule, we didn’t managed to join the event, but we did our part by contributing artwork for them to use on their website.  Look forward to the 2015 event.

And only 15 mins into the event, some people are taking out their sketch books. They just can’t stop drawing

For the Eagle is an important element in the animation, he has to select an easily recognizable design for it. Beside nailing down the details, he took special attention at finding the most interesting silhouette for the eagle. 

A close up look at some of the details. Quick rough sketches that able to bring ideas across effectively is crucial in getting the Art Director’s involvement to get a clear direction. The ability to do so, saves a lot of time and cost in any production.

An exploration into the character design. Keeping thing loss but clear. Focusing on trying different styles and approaches. 

Flashing the character out in 3D, place some simple lighting to check how it looks.

Nothing beats a well-executed environment painting, displaying the scale of things and getting the mood right!

We also got the permission to re-design the character, making sure that the character will be more appealing. And also… We saw it right on the public bus. 

However, this is the best we can get. The next few times we saw it, our hand is simply not fast enough
